Sanju Samson produced a stunning Player of the Match display as India chased down South Africa’s 196 for four to finish on 197 for four in 20 overs. His explosive 85 from 48 balls, including eight fours and five sixes, set the tone for a commanding batting performance.
Samson combined timing with power throughout his innings, keeping India ahead of the required rate during the chase. Hardik Pandya added the finishing thrust with a brisk 44 off 24 balls, striking six fours and one six to ensure South Africa’s total was overhauled with room to spare.
South Africa had earlier posted a competitive 196 for four, with Aiden Markram leading the way with 55 from 38 deliveries. Markram’s innings included five fours and two sixes, giving his side a strong platform in the 20-over contest.
India’s bowlers made important inroads without allowing South Africa to lose control of the innings. Axar Patel claimed one wicket in his four overs, while Keshav Maharaj also took a wicket for South Africa and Wiaan Mulder returned one wicket from his over.
