Miller and Markram provide the finishing power after a disciplined bowling display sets up a composed pursuit
England vs South Africa
South Africa has won the match by 5 wickets
Kagiso Rabada starred with the ball before South Africa held their nerve in a tense chase against England. South Africa reached 147-5 in 19.3 overs to complete a five-wicket victory after England posted 143-6 from their 20 overs.
David Miller anchored the South African innings with a fluent 52 from 40 balls, striking four fours and one six. Aiden Markram added valuable momentum with 42 from 32 deliveries, including four boundaries and a six, as the chase stayed under control through the closing overs.
England’s total was built around Will Jacks, who top-scored with 52 from 41 balls. He hit two fours and a six, but England could not generate enough late acceleration to put sustained pressure on South Africa.
Rabada was the standout performer with 3-26 from four overs and was named Player of the Match. Keshav Maharaj also made an important contribution, returning 1-21 from his four-over spell. For England, Adil Rashid delivered the most economical effort among the leading bowlers, taking 2-22 in four overs.
South Africa’s measured batting response, led by Miller and Markram, ultimately carried them across the line with three deliveries remaining.
